The Client/Developer's ambition was to utilise ground source heating to provide space heating and hot water to 8 high end properties and provide their purchasers with the opportunity to be independent of fuel oil and natural gas and to gain the benefits of the Governments Renewable Heat Incentive.
The Clients objective was to move away from the existing variable fuel sources (LPG, direct electric and fuel oil), to provide the residents with a reliable efficient and in-obtrusive renewable technology and for them to gain the benefit of the Governments Renewable Heat Inventive.
“The Ground Source Heat Pump system is relatively low maintenance and can be controlled remotely. It is quite rural here, but in the mornings, all we could her were boilers starting up. The pump is quiet and you don’t get the lorries coming to deliver oil, plus there are the fuel savings for the residents. We expect is to be a great selling point”.
“Renewable energy is definitely the future and makes complete sense. Who wouldn’t want more security over fuel prices?”
The system consisted of a Ground Energy Collector (32x70m deep borehole heat exchangers) coupled to a multiple ground source heat pump system, each providing heat and domestic hot water to individual properties.
The system was design, installed and commissioned and is also maintained by G-Core Limited.
